GTM was honoured to contribute to the latest GM Migration Interfaith event, looking at the complex and growing issue of housing and homelessness.
The event brought together faith groups from across GM alongside charities and people with lived experience to explore what more can be done, how we can work together and what existing projects need more support.
GTM's role within this conversation is twofold - firstly we have a programme of support that equips and enables churches to create projects that support people experiencing poverty and disadvantage. This programme also works with churches to get involved in events and networks like today's event in order to better work together, engage with statutory services and influence policy locally, regionally and nationally.
At the event, our Chief Exec spoke about a new programme GTM is developing with Boaz Trust to create a new Lodgings Project for new refugees - more details about this to follow soon!
Massive thank you to GMCA for facilitating this event alongside representatives from faith communities and our continued thanks to the Benefact Trust for funding our vital work to support churches in their social justice work.
