An Inspiring Evening at LUMINISCENCE in Manchester Cathedral

Our Lifeskills participants recently enjoyed a truly unforgettable evening at LUMINISCENCE in Manchester Cathedral – an immersive experience combining spectacular light projections, live music and storytelling within one of Manchester's most iconic buildings.

The show transformed the Cathedral into a breathtaking canvas of light and sound, with stunning 360-degree projections, live performances by the Collectives Gospel Choir and a moving celebration of Manchester's history, people and culture. It was a unique experience that left our participants inspired and in awe.

Experiences like this are an important part of our Lifeskills programme. Many of the people we support have experienced homelessness, social isolation or significant life challenges, and opportunities to take part in cultural activities help build confidence, improve wellbeing and create positive shared memories. Spending time together outside of everyday routines also strengthens friendships and helps people feel more connected to their community.

We would like to say a very special thank you to our Chair of Trustees, Rev'd Canon Grace Thomas, Canon Missioner at Manchester Cathedral, who kindly helped arrange free tickets for our group. Grace's support made it possible for our participants to enjoy this remarkable event, and we are incredibly grateful for her generosity and encouragement.

As a charity with strong partnerships across churches and communities, we are always delighted to see opportunities like this opening doors for the people we support. The evening was filled with smiles, conversation and moments of wonder, reminding us of the power of arts and culture to bring people together and lift our spirits.
