Support with Energy Costs

If you are struggling to pay your energy bills, the best thing you can do is talk to your energy provider as soon as possible. They have lots of ways to help, including switching you to a more suitable tariff, helping with a more affordable payment plan, or or advising you about grants available.

If you are finding it difficult to talk to your energy company, then Citizens Advice may be able to support you. Visit their website for more information.

£140 off your gas or electricity bill between October and March.

Grants to help you pay off your energy debts

When you apply for a grant, you'll have to provide detailed information about your financial situation in your application. It could take a while to complete, and it might be worth getting help from a friend or family member. You can also ask Citizens Advice for support.

If your supplier does not have its own grants scheme, you may be able to get a grant from the British Gas Energy Trust - these grants are available to anyone, you don't have to be a British Gas Customer.
